This qualification is aimed at those who are in a supervisory role. Whilst undertaking the qualification, students will learn more about the common workplace hazards and controls, risk assessment and health and safety management in general.

Qualification Purpose: This qualification is aimed at those who are in a supervisory role. Whilst undertaking the qualification, students will learn more about the common workplace hazards and controls, risk assessment and health and safety management in general.
The qualification comprises of 1 Unit – Health and Safety in the Workplace which is split into 5 x Learning Outcomes (LO):
LO1 – Understand the requirements for health, safety and welfare in the workplace
LO2 – Understand the benefits of using a safety management system
LO3 – Understand the principles of risk assessment
LO4 – Understand the risks and control methods for common workplace hazards
LO5 – Understand how to manage the effects of accidents and incidents

Assessment: This qualification is assessed by multiple choice exam questions. Learners must achieve 70% correct answers to pass the exam.

Pre-requisites:

1. Learners should have a minimum of Level 1 literacy and numeracy or equivalent
2. Learners should be at least 16 years old in order to undertake the qualification
3. Learners need to be able to provide at least one form of photographic identification or two forms of non-photographic identification.
