Qualification Purpose: This qualification is intended for those working in, or looking to start work in a health and social care setting. Safeguarding adults at risk is a key responsibility for those working in the health and social care sector.

The qualification comprises of 1 Unit, Principles of safeguarding adults in health and social care, which is split into 4 x Learning Outcomes (LO);
LO1 – Understand the principles of safeguarding adults at risk in health and social care
LO2 – Be able to identify those at risk from harm
LO3 – Know how to reduce the likelihood of abuse in health and social care
LO4 – Know how to respond to suspicion or reports of abuse

Assessment: This qualification is assessed by the following methods: multi choice examination paper. Learners must achieve 66% to pass.

Pre-requisites:

1. Learners should have at least a Level 2 numeracy and literacy or equivalent
2. Learners should be at least 18 years old in order to undertake the qualification
3. Learners need to be able to provide at least one form of photographic identification or two forms of non-photographic identification.
